MY STORY:

I was born on November 16, 1993, in the Dominican Republic. I had three sisters, and while we were still children, we lost our parents. After our parents died two of my three sisters and I went to an orphanage called EL ARCA KIDS A LIFE INTERNATIONAL. It was here that I met God and received Jesus Christ into my life as my King and Savior.

While I was growing up I was never very interested in sports like the other kids. I was always more interested in working and learning new skills after school.

In high school, a missionary called Jhon Breul started a ministry for young Dominicans that taught them how to landscape. As time went on the group dissolved, but I kept working and growing my skills in landscaping. That led me to start my own company, “El Maestro de la Grama”. The harder I worked, the more my business grew.

As I continued to grow my landscaping business, I met my wife Andris Duran. At the time, she was living in New York City and once we got married, she brought me to the United States. Once I got my green card, my friend and colleague, Chad Wallace invited me to come to Texas and work with him at a company called Landvisions.

I started working for Landvisions in July 2018. I am grateful for all the support I received from Landvisions, and for them teaching me about working in the United States. The variety of projects also gave me a broad scope of experience in various landscapes.

On May, 25th 2021 I decided to start my own landscaping company, Yio Grass to continue my personal growth and provide more opportunities for my family. I am proud to serve the East Texas community through my landscaping services. I love hard work, and I am excited to work hard for you, to make your land beautiful.

My name is Ricky Goodwin, and I am proud to partner with Yovanny Abreu to create a more comprehensive Irrigation and landscape business.

I have created Green Lawn Irrigation and Landscape LLC that will enhance and integrate comprehensive irrigation design and Professional Engineering services.

I hold a Texas lrrigator license #28932 and a Professional Engineering license #61253. The combination of Yovanny’s current and proven landscaping workmanship that has already demonstrated exceptional results and my technical and design ability, we can offer landscape designs like no other.

I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Civil Engineering and worked in construction, dirt moving and design industry for over 35 years. I bring a wealth of knowledge to the design, permitting and cost effectiveness of lawn irrigation, retaining walls and landscaping that will bring customer satisfaction at the best possible cost. Permitting for irrigation systems will be streamlined to comply with city guidelines. Where required, retaining walls will be designed and constructed to professional engineering safety standards and certified with a PE stamp.
